Element 7A: School Executive Mirco-Political Leadership
The school executive develops systems and relationships to leverage staff expertise and influence the school's identity, culture and performance.
My research of the school's history lead me to discover the rich and long-standing tradition of Bunn High School's Homecoming Week. This week is perhaps the biggest event of the year for this small town and generations upon generations return to participate in the week's culminating parade and Homecoming Friday Night Football Game. Throughout the week, I worked to help create schedules, meet parade participants, schedule plans for the parade, participate in Spirit Week activities and supervise our daily Homecoming celebrations. I worked hard to show my new community that I was vested in Bunn High School and wanted to lead to the best of my ability during this crucial week. I was able to forge relationships with members of the community, my staff, my students and alumni.
